TURKISH GOOD AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES (İTU)
Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in Türkiye are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on Good Agricultural Practices published in the Official Gazette dated 07/12/2010 and numbered 27778. Producers who want to obtain the “Good Agricultural Practices Certificate” in Crop Production should apply these criteria and initiate the necessary control and certification processes by making a contract with an authorized certification body. Control and certification bodies issue Good Agricultural Practices Certificates within the scope of their authorization and oversee compliance with the criteria published by the Ministry.
As USB Certification, with the decision of the Good Agricultural Practices Committee dated 05/05/2010 and numbered 2010/05 and the Undersecretariat’s approval dated 20/05/2010 and 095, our organization is to carry out control and certification activities in the scope of Fresh Vegetables and Fruits. As of 20/05/2010, it has been authorized with the code TR.İTU.19
Organic farming activities in Türkiye are carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, within the scope of the Organic Agriculture Law No. 5262 and the Regulation on the Principles and Implementation of Organic Agriculture published in the Official Gazette No. 27676, based on the contract made with the Control and Certification bodies that authorize organic farming.
Since organic farming is a production method in which every stage of production is controlled and the final product is certified, it is implemented under the supervision of control and certification bodies and within the contract.
As USB Certification, in accordance with the Organic Agriculture Law No. 5262 and the Regulation on the Principles and Implementation of Organic Agriculture, with the decision of the Organic Agriculture Committee dated 30.07.2019 and numbered 2019/06 and the Approvals of the Ministry Authority dated 01.08.2019 and numbered E.2327400, it has been authorized as a Control and Certification body with the TR-OT-52 code within the scope of Organic Plant Production, Processing, Packaging, Labeling, Storage, Transport and Marketing of Organic Products.
