USB Certification and Textile Exchange to cover the Materials Matter transition in a joint webinar on 12 November
Together with Textile Exchange, we are hosting a free webinar titled “Materials Matter Standard: Transitioning to the Materials Matter System”. Textile Exchange, as the standard owner, and USB Certification, as an accredited certification body, will answer participants’ questions in the same session. The webinar will take place online on Thursday 12 November 2026 at 10:00 GMT / 11:00 CET / 13:00 Türkiye time.
The Materials Matter Standard takes effect on 31 December 2026, and after 31 December 2027, audits to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS) and Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS) will no longer be permitted. Certified companies have about a year to work out what happens to their inventory, their claims, and their Scope Certificates and Transaction Certificates during the transition.
From Textile Exchange, Standards Engagement Manager Anna Bernstein and Materials Matter Specialist George Lehmann will present the transition roadmap. Our Technical & Quality Department Manager Ali Ertuğrul will explain what changes on the certification side and the steps companies can take to prepare for the new requirements.
The programme covers four topics: what happens to certified inventory and claims during the transition, changes to Scope Certificate and Transaction Certificate processes, documentation and record-keeping expectations under Materials Matter, and practical steps for recyclers. The session will close with a panel between the two teams and an open Q&A. Registration is required, and questions you would like answered during the webinar can be submitted through the registration form. You can access the registration form via this link.
This session follows our 21 May 2026 webinar on the impact of the Materials Matter Standard on recyclers and the value chain, and continues our work to keep stakeholders informed throughout the transition.
