Certification Body (CB) applications for the FSSC 22000 programme, one of the leading global food safety management system standards, will be temporarily suspended as of 14 March 2025. In the official statement made by FSSC, it was stated that this decision was taken in order to evaluate existing applications more effectively due to increasing demand and to maintain quality standards in certification processes.
The statement also emphasised that the activities of existing certification bodies and applications currently under evaluation will not be affected by this decision. It was stated that this temporary suspension is a strategic move to maintain the performance of existing processes and to provide the necessary infrastructure to accept new applications with higher quality standards.
FSSC officials announced that the necessary arrangements and studies for the resumption of the application processes will be completed quickly, the situation will be closely monitored and the public and relevant institutions will be informed. It was also underlined that the support of all stakeholders is critical to maintain the importance and reliability of the certification programme in the global food sector.
The authorities asked certification bodies to show patience and understanding during this process and announced that detailed information and updates will be shared through the official FSSC platforms.
