Manufacturers can certify their products under the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) as evidence that the bird feathers used in textiles and many different areas are obtained without subjecting animals to any unnecessary suffering, with their welfare in mind.
USB Certification, as a Content Claim Standard (CCS) accredited certification body, is able to provide certification in RDS for all manufacturers in the supply chain that are in the scope of secondary scope that is after the primary farm production.
In CCS certification processes, based on chain of custody, producers are audited for correct documentation, volume reconciliation, and separate storage management to ensure traceability.
The Standard is applicable to all products containing at least 5% RWS.
