Materials Matter Standard EN

USB Certification organized a comprehensive webinar on the Materials Matter Standard (MMS), which closely concerns recycling and value chain actors. The webinar, held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM with a presentation by USB Certification Technical and Quality Manager Ali Ertuğrul, addressed in detail the impacts of MMS on recyclers and the value chain.

The webinar specifically addressed the new approach and systemic changes brought by MMS for recycled material producers and stakeholders using these materials. Published by Textile Exchange, MMS will be implemented for animal fiber producers and recyclers within Tier 4 of the supply chain and will gradually replace the GRS, RCS, RAF (RAS, RWS, RMS), and RDS standards during a designated transition period.

The webinar covered the scope of MMS, the claims it includes, its relationship with other Textile Exchange standards, transition period dates and requirements, and the obligations arising for both recyclers and value chain actors using recycled materials. Additionally, practical information and implementation tips were shared with participants for effectively managing the transition process. The event was organized to provide sector professionals with the necessary knowledge and guidance to prepare for the MMS transition and received significant interest from participants.
