Textile Exchange has introduced another innovation in the process of complying with sustainability standards by launching the eTransaction processes, which will be conducted via the eTrackit system for the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS). As of September 18, 2024, this system aims to enhance traceability and transparency in the field of sustainability. Currently, the eTrackit system is only applicable to GRS and RCS processes, but it is planned that other standards will be integrated into the system in the future.
eTrackit is a multi-stakeholder system developed to ensure traceability of certified materials throughout the supply chain. This system allows material calculations at the product level, while the transactions made through eTransactions are secured by peer-to-peer verification and third-party certification approval.
Companies can continue their transactions digitally through eTransaction using eTrackit, or they can proceed with the traditional Transaction Certificate (TC) method. While the use of eTrackit is not mandatory, companies should consider some distinguishing differences between eTransaction and TC as they proceed. For example, the process known as Multi TC, which allows the transaction of products certified under multiple standards in the same TC, will not be possible in the eTransaction system and can only be carried out through traditional TC processes.
eTransaction processes will be conducted through the Textile Genesis platform, and companies must register with this platform. For more detailed information regarding eTrackit processes, you can refer to the ASR-113 Policy for the use of eTrackit document published by Textile Exchange.
