USB Certification CEO Nesrin Serin discusses quality and corporate trust at Türkiye Innovation Week 2026

Our Founder and CEO Nesrin Serin was a panellist in the session “Perception of Quality from Local to Global: Elements of Future Corporate Trust in the Context of National Quality Infrastructure and Humanity 6.0” at Türkiye Innovation Week 2026. Hosted by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) with the support of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, the event took place at the Haliç Congress Center on 15-17 October 2026. The panel was held on the final day, Saturday 17 October, on the Wisdom Stage.

The session was moderated by Dr B. Gökhan Topal, Director of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at OSTİM Technical University and Board Member of OSTİM Technopark. The other panellists were Dr Güven Fidan, Co-Chair of IEEE Blockchain and Lecturer in Computer Engineering at Middle East Technical University, and Dr Mert Cihan Tonkal, Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye.

Global regulations, the Digital Product Passport (DPP), supply chain transparency and the verification of sustainability claims were the main topics of the panel. The discussion also covered the problems exporting manufacturers face in testing, calibration, standardisation and certification, how artificial intelligence systems will be certified and the future of trust in a digital world.

The panel highlighted that national quality infrastructure is built not only on documents on paper, but also on the auditing of areas that fall outside standards. A certificate shows that a product or process meets the requirements defined in a standard. Sustainability claims made about a product, or supply chain data collected for the Digital Product Passport, often fall outside that definition, and they also need to be verified if corporate trust is to rest on solid ground.
