USB Certification Bangladesh Hosts a Sustainable Capacity Building Event

5 June, 2024 – The USB Certification organisation successfully hosted its highly anticipated and industry-relevant ‘Sustainable Capacity Development Program’ event at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka. This event, running from 10:00 am to 03:30 pm, was a significant step towards promoting sustainable practices and capacity building within the industry. The event drew an impressive attendance of approximately 110 participants, including industry experts, sustainability advocates, and key stakeholders such as H&M, Indochine International Ltd. (BD), Synergies Bangladesh, Synergies Bangladesh, Envoy Textiles, G Star RAW, Bestseller, NZ Fabric, BGBA and BCDMEA. The distinguished guest list featured Mr. Bilal Belyurt, Commercial Counsellor of the Turkish Embassy in Dhaka, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Belyurt’s presence highlighted the solid diplomatic and economic ties between Turkey and Bangladesh, especially concerning sustainable development in the textile sector. His insights on international collaboration and trade relations, backed by his extensive

experience, provided valuable perspectives for all attendees. The organisation’s Special Guest was Ms. Nesrin Serin, the Founder and General Manager of USB Certification. Ms. Nesrin Serin emphasised the importance of certification in ensuring adherence to sustainability standards and fostering improvements across various sectors. She addressed the role of certification in promoting sustainability within the industry, showcasing her visionary leadership and dedication to advancing sustainability within the certification sector. USB Certification was represented by Bangladesh Country Manager Engr. Md. Hasnat Kabir and the entire USB Bangladesh team as well as USB Certification Technical and Quality Manager Ali Ertuğrul, USB Certification Chemicals Programme Manager Erce Ercegil and USB Certification Human Resources Manager Selin Ay were present at the event.
