The 20th Agroexpo International Agriculture and Livestock Fair, held in Izmir on 4-8 February 2025, attracted great interest from the participants as an important event showcasing the latest developments and innovations in the agricultural sector.
This year’s fair offered sector representatives the opportunity to introduce a wide range of innovative products such as the latest seeds, fertilisers, irrigation systems, plant protection and nutrition products, livestock equipment, tractors and construction machinery.
Cemil Tugay, Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, made a speech at the opening of the fair and emphasised the importance of the organisation. It was stated that Izmir will continue to support the agricultural sector, and it was emphasised that the fair is an important platform for the development of the agricultural sector in the region. In addition, it was stated that such events bring together all stakeholders in the sector to exchange ideas and increase cooperation opportunities.
Speaking at the opening speeches, Mustafa Şahin, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, once again emphasised Izmir’s strong position in agricultural production. Şahin pointed out that the main focus of the fair is to increase productivity, sustainability and technology utilisation. He also stated that the fair offered more technology-oriented solutions this year and is an important step for the future of agricultural production.
In addition to being a meeting point where important representatives of the agricultural sector came together, Agroexpo also enabled the introduction of the latest products and technologies in the sector. While discovering new systems that increase efficiency in production processes, participants also learnt about environmentally friendly and sustainable production methods.
