USB Certification Addressed the Materials Matter Transition at the Textile Exchange Assurance Summit
The assurance system in textiles is being rebuilt, and certification bodies stand on the front line of this transformation. As USB Certification, we took part in the Assurance Summit, where Textile Exchange brought together the global assurance ecosystem on 10 June 2026, and assessed, together with global stakeholders, the transition that will shape the industry’s next two years.
USB Certification was represented at the summit by our Textile and Recycling Certification Director Miraç Wolska and our Technical and Quality Department Manager Ali Ertuğrul; as an accredited certification body, we shared our preparations for the transition and our perspective on preparing our clients for a smooth changeover.
The Materials Matter Standard (MMS) becomes effective on 31 December 2026; from 31 December 2027, all certifications under RCS, GRS, RWS, RMS, and RAS will have been migrated to this new system within a single integrated framework. The transition will take shape in audit rooms long before it appears on product labels; it therefore directly concerns both certified companies and the audit and certification teams serving them in the period ahead.
