TÜRKAK’s Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) with the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) has been expanded to include validation and verification fields. In this context, TÜRKAK’s MLA with IAF has been updated to cover ISO/IEC 17029, ISO 14065, ISO 14066, ISO 14064-3, and ISO 14064-1/2 standards. Accreditation activities in these areas are expected to make significant contributions to accurately measuring and reducing greenhouse gas emissions and, therefore, to fighting climate change.
This year, TÜRKAK expanded the scope of the IAF MLA by including activities within the AS9100 series of standards, an International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) sub-scope, into the IAF MLA in February 2024.
On October 5, 2022, TÜRKAK’s activities under the ISO/IEC 17029 standard were added to the European Accreditation Association Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (EA MLA), making TÜRKAK one of the first two accreditation bodies in Europe to include this standard within the EA MLA.
Standards covered by the IAF MLA:
- ISO/IEC 17029: General principles and requirements for validation and verification bodies.
- ISO 14065: General principles and requirements for bodies validating and verifying environmental information.
- ISO 14066: Competence requirements for teams validating and verifying environmental information.
- ISO 14064-3: Specifications and guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements.
- ISO 14064-1: Guidance for the calculation and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals at the organizational level.
- ISO 14064-2: Guidance for the calculation, monitoring, and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements at the project level.
