The lion’s share of Turkey’s agricultural investment strategy for 2026 has been allocated to irrigation projects. The programme, designed to minimise the effects of climate change and ensure sustainable food supply security, prioritises the efficient use of every drop of water. Within this scope, the aim is to equip existing agricultural land with modern irrigation facilities and reduce water loss and leakage rates.
At the heart of the investment plan is the transition to closed-loop pressurised pipe systems and digital monitoring infrastructure, going beyond traditional methods. This transformation aims not only to increase agricultural productivity but also to reduce production costs and maintain the competitiveness of farmers. These moves to protect water resources are seen as a driving force for rural development and will directly support Turkey’s agricultural export potential.
Implemented with a strategic vision, these projects aim to transform the agricultural sector from merely a production area into a climate-resilient and technology-focused economic powerhouse.
