BRCGS Introduces the New SALSA to START! Transition Tool

BRCGS announced the release of the SALSA to START! Transition tool.

Developed in collaboration with SALSA, this tool is designed to support businesses currently certified to the SALSA Food & Drink Production Standard (Issue 6) in their transition to the BRCGS START! certification program.

The tool, based on a thorough gap analysis between the two standards, enables businesses to perform a self-assessment to determine their level of compliance with the BRCGS START! Standard. This assessment helps identify non-conformities and potential challenges that could affect the transition from SALSA to START! certification.

This guidance document serves as an essential step towards achieving START! Intermediate level certification, which aims to recognize and encourage the development of food safety systems in small operations or those with less mature food safety management systems.
