Climate Resilient Good Cotton Production and Value Chain Meeting was held.

Organized in cooperation with ETO Association and IPUD, ‘Climate Resilient Good Cotton Production and Value Chain Meeting’ was held at EIB / Aegean Exporters’ Associations on February 5, 2025. 

Prof. Uygun Aksoy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ETO, Dr. Fatih Kılıç, Deputy Director of Izmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, Tolga Uskuç, Member of the Board of Directors of IPUD and ETO, Mehmet Faik Yersel, Training and Capacity Building Manager of IPUD and Sevgi KANSOY, Agricultural Programs Manager of USB Certification took part in the event attended by academicians and sector representatives. 

In the panel organized within the scope of the event, USB Certification Agricultural Programs Manager Sevgi Kansoy made an informative presentation on regenerative agriculture and certification of these standards.  

In the event where information was given on climate-resilient cotton production, the benefits of good cotton production, the new agricultural support model (strategic product support) macro planning for water problems and restorative agriculture, it was also stated that Turkey’s annual cotton production is approaching 1 million tons and the amount of cotton produced in the Better Cotton (BC) standard has reached 100 thousand tons in the last 11 years.
