OCA’s Global Growth and Sustainability Goals

,

The 2024-2025 cotton season will be an important milestone for OCA (Organic Cotton Accelerator). OCA is trying to contribute to the global scale-up of organic cotton by involving more than 100,000 farmers in the Farm Program. In the 2023-2024 season, work with 82,264 farmers on 106,010 hectares in India and Pakistan significantly increased demand for organic cotton. These farmers earned a premium of 8% above market prices, increasing their commitment to organic crops. OCA’s Farm Program has expanded further with 18 brands, 14 Implementation Partners and 11 Seed Partners.

OCA continues to invest heavily in organic and regenerative farming practices, educating farmers through the support of 415 demonstration farms. It also works to increase farmers’ soil fertility by developing data collection systems that include environmental data.

The OCA program, launched in Turkey in 2024, aims to increase the global visibility of Turkish organic cotton. The program supports 78 farmers with premium payments and pre-purchase agreements.

OCA has realized premium payments of EUR 4,760,000 through digital payments, increasing farmers’ financial empowerment and payment transparency. Emphasizing that a commitment to sustainable practices drives environmental and social change, it invites brands and business partners to invest in organic cotton.
