USB Certification participated in the Overview Workshop on the Conformity Assessment Sector in Turkey, organized on February 16-17, 2026, in Istanbul under the coordination of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey. USB Certification Technical and Assurance Director Emre Metin represented the organization at the workshop held within the scope of the Technical Support for Product Safety in E-Commerce Project.
The two-day workshop addressed product safety in e-commerce, EU legislation developments, accreditation processes, ethical practices, and legislative recommendations that will shape the sector. USB Certification contributed to the development of the sector by bringing its international experience in more than 80 countries and its multilateral accreditation structure to the workshop.
The workshop provided a comprehensive platform for evaluating Turkey’s institutional capacity in conformity assessment and its potential for international integration. Alignment processes with EU legislation and the new oversight requirements brought by the expansion of digital trade emerged as key areas for the sector to focus on in the period ahead.
It was stated that dialogue will continue on strengthening the product safety culture and increasing global compliance. USB Certification underlined its readiness to continue contributing to this process through its international accreditation expertise.
