TMO announces 2026/27 hazelnut purchase prices. Producers paid based on yield. Click for details.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has announced the 2026/27 season purchase prices for in-shell hazelnuts set by the Grain Board (TMO), which millions of producers—particularly in the Black Sea Region—have been eagerly awaiting. Producers will also receive a yield differential payment in the new season.

With the start of the hazelnut harvest, the TMO purchase prices—which have been the focus of attention—have been finalized. According to an official statement by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, a new purchase policy and minimum prices have been established for the 2026/27 agricultural season, based on a 50% sound kernel content standard. The pricing structure to be implemented will vary depending on the quality and yield of the hazelnuts.

Pricing Based on Quality and Performance

For the new season’s purchases, the yield differential system remains in place to protect producers’ labor and encourage high-quality production. In addition to the base prices set based on a 50 percent sound kernel standard, producers will receive an additional payment per kilogram for every +1 yield point exceeding 50.

The Schedule for Appointments and Purchases Has Been Announced

TMO will continue to operate on an appointment-based system to ensure that purchasing operations are conducted in an orderly manner without causing congestion. The critical dates set for producers to deliver their products have been announced as follows:

  • Launch of the Appointment System: August 17, 2026
  • Start of Hazelnut Purchases: August 24, 2026

Starting August 17, producers will be able to schedule purchase appointments through the e-Government portal, via the appointment system on the TMO’s official website, or by applying directly at TMO offices.

Bringing harvested hazelnuts to the appropriate moisture content and removing foreign matter from them is of great importance for producers to achieve high yields and increase their income. The TMO’s intervention in the market to set reference prices aims to prevent price fluctuations in the free market and protect producers from financial hardship.
