SFA Hosts “Cashmere Connect 2025” to Strengthen Certified Cashmere Trade

In February, the Sustainable Fibre Alliance (SFA) successfully hosted the annual “Cashmere Connect 2025” event, bringing together SFA member processing companies, herder cooperatives, and registered traders. The event fostered discussions on ‘SFA-Certified’ cashmere trade and provided a platform for preliminary raw material purchase agreements.
Attendees included SFA CEO Una Jones, ICCAW (China) representatives, Dr. Julie Garnier (OCT), and partners from Obortech Mongolia and the Dornod Mongolian Dry Steppe Conservation Project. A total of 12 processing companies and 35 cooperatives participated, with additional cooperatives joining remotely.
Una Jones highlighted the importance of sustainability and collaboration, stating, “Long-term sustainability relies on mutual understanding, fairness, and strong partnerships.”
Updates on SFA Animal Fibre Standard v1.0 and SFA Chain of Custody Standard v1.1 were introduced, ensuring stakeholder alignment. B2B meetings further strengthened the ‘SFA-Certified’ cashmere supply chain and market connectivity.
